I am a licensed clinical psychologist, which means that I earned a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and completed more than 1500 hours of supervised clinical work after graduation. I obtained my Ph.D. from Florida State University in 2007, and have been seeing patients and supervising therapists-in-training ever since. My Colorado license # is 3241.
In addition to seeing clients at my private practice, I am the Director of the Center for Child and Family Psychology in the Department of Psychology at the University of Denver. In that role, I supervise graduate students who are learning to become therapists, teach courses, and conduct research.
During the last 10 years, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings including 3 community mental health clinics, a VA hospital, a state psychiatric hospital, and a juvenile sexual offender treatment center. Working in these different settings allowed me to interact with people who struggled with a wide variety of problems and gave me the opportunity to fine tune my therapy and assessment skills. My clients have been as young as 4 and as old as 89. I've worked with individuals, couples, families, and groups.
